The battery registration process should be completed using the VIT-100 if the JDT provides a Replace decision during in-vehicle testing on applicable Audi, BMW, Mini and Volkswagen vehicles.
The JDT result screen will show the following message if a vehicle may require battery registration: “Should you replace this battery, battery registration may be required”
If this message appears during a Replace decision and the customer wants a new battery:
- Complete the in-vehicle testing process (tap the Checkmark)
- Return to the JDT main menu
- Tap Battery Registration and Electronic Reset app
- Do NOT connect the new battery until told to do so by the JDT battery tester
